Levi Strauss & Co. is partnering with Harvard University to use blockchain technology in improving and fine-tuning worker conditions. The program, developed by the T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Sustainability and Health Initiative for NetPositive Enterprise, will feature an annual survey that records worker replies on a blockchain platform.
According to research firm PSFK, it allows the workers “a transparent and unalterable way” to give honest, anonymous feedback. A test is to take place in three Mexican factories, employing about 5,000 workers.
