Party on, dude. Planet 13 Superstore, billed as the “world’s largest cannabis dispensary,” has opened in Las Vegas. In addition to 42 registers — designed to handle more than 2,000 visitors a day — the space includes interactive laser graffiti, 3D projection, fog-making fountains, flying orbs, motion-activated floors and 13 LED-lighted flowers on the roof that customers can control.
Located just a mile off the Strip, it highlights the fact that recreational marijuana is legal in Nevada — though it’s still not supposed to be used in public. Along with high-quality recreational goods, the shop sells cannabis extracts and infused products available “at competitive prices and with compassion that can only come from those who are knowledgeable in the field,” according to the company.
The 40,000-square-foot entertainment complex includes more than 16,500 square feet of cannabis retail space. A coffee shop is underway; if/when local laws allow it, there also will be an on-site consumption lounge.
As Bob Groesbeck, co-CEO of Planet 13 — and past mayor of nearby Henderson — puts it, “We want to out-Vegas Vegas.”
