Shall we raise a glass to Blockbuster? First, we can celebrate the fact that the long-loved video rental chain is not completely gone. A lone location remains in Bend, Ore., where they’re no doubt still kind and remembering to rewind. The other reason to rejoice: Blockbuster has partnered with a local craft brewer to create “The Last Blockbuster” beer. The black ale is having a limited run at all 10 Barrel pub locations — including the two in Bend. Chris Cox, 10 Barrel Brewing Co. cofounder, told Business Insider, “The Last Blockbuster Beer pairs perfectly with buttery theater popcorn and your favorite movie-sized chocolate with a light body, smooth finish and hints of nostalgia.” In a time when many are wistful for the way things “used to be,” it’s a move worth watching.
