If Saks Fifth Avenue has anything to say about it, the salon experience as a whole is about to upgrade its style.
The Salon Project, a partnership with Warren Tricomi’s Joel Warren, will highlight tech in addition to providing luxury services. Clients will be able to make purchases from an iPad and use augmented reality to “try on” the salon’s products. The first location will be the Huntington, N.Y., Saks Fifth Avenue on Long Island; 10 U.S. locations are planned for the next two years. On the list, naturally: the flagship Saks in midtown Manhattan.
Warren says he “noticed the way that many salons do things isn’t as efficient as it could be.” The concept brings everything right to the client — about as luxurious as it gets.
