The style to match the swagger

Online may be the way to make a match these days, but there is no covering up the disappointment when the date arrives and looks nothing like their photo. Or, perhaps, the photo itself is enough reason to swipe left.

Toronto men’s clothier Gotstyle is out to change the direction of the swiping — which, for the uninitiated, is Tinder’s way of expressing approval: Right for yes, left for no.

Gotstyle offers a service designed to help users improve upon those bathroom selfies that dot so many dating profiles. For $99, the store’s stylist will find three looks and then take photos from the shopper’s phone — making it easier to instantly upload to online dating websites. There is even a discount for purchases made.

Both men and women could use a little style spruce-up before posting online profile pictures, and Gotstyle proves just how valid that point is. On its blog, the retailer posts recent before-and-after shots — proving the $100 is well spent. (The $100 price tag comes with a $75 promo card for purchases.)

The retailer also has aligned with a local boutique matchmaking agency, for those who need a little further push into the deep end of dating.
